Jan 2022- present | Founder of The Design Build Collective

Established a membership based, community supported network of wood & metalworkers within the Reno Generator to provide learning, education, and business opportunities to women, LGBTQ+, nonbinary, and other underrepresented minorities within the furniture trades.

Dec 2018-present | Founder/Lead Design of DeLaveaga Designs LLC

My woodcraft design studio focuses on salvaged lumber wooden furniture, specializing in custom and bespoke pieces for residential and commercial entities. Since 2018, I’ve learned skills related to business administration, client management & relationship building, project management, sustainable & economic material sourcing, and the design-build process during this time.

 

Nov 2019-July 2022 | Wood Steward & CNC Lead at the Reno Generator

Maintained and supervised the communal use of the woodshop & Roctech CNC Router within the space. Responsible for overall woodshop maintenance and tool upkeep. Lead multiple project-based workshops for members & the public. Reference: Alysia Crissman 971.207.5910

 

Mar 2019-Aug 2019 | Wood Lead for Interactive Art Installation Head Maze for Burning Man Festival

Created two rooms in large 4 story head “maze”, featuring lead artist Matt Schultz’s interactive experience of a psychological labyrinth. Designed, material sourced, & fabricated a dreamlike tea room & two story Victorian library.

 

May 2015-Aug 2017| Creative Director of Breadware, Inc.

Responsible for design of interactive sensor-based art to display sensor’s capabilities. May'13- May'15| Residential Maintenance Manager at the Berkeley Student Cooperative.

Tasked with general building maintenance for the second largest student residence [124 students],  oversaw habitability inspections, external contracting, and operation/maintenance of house tool shops. Designed, planned, & constructed an interactive rooftop skydeck in 2015.
